Day Hikes
Right Before the Hike:
- Take Attendance
- Medical Forms
- Group Photograph
- Scripture Reading - Something that tells of the wonders
and glories of God. Psalms is a good resource.
- Pledge of Allegiance
- Prayer
- Supply Check

- Water
- Food
- Shoes
- First Aid Kit
- Sun Screen
- Review the Rules

- Stay Together as a Pack
- An adult must be in the very front
- An adult must be in the very back
- Older boys, keep watch on the younger
- Stay on the Trail - getting of the trail may
expose the snakes and other hazards
- Give a short description of the hike and what to
expect
- Tel the group any historical significance of where they
are hiking (if any)
On the Hike
- Take frequent photos
- Take frequent water breaks
- Take notice of the surroundings - invite scouts to let
the group know of things that they find
- Take frequent counts to make sure all scouts are
accounted for
After the Hike
